In 1973, we decided to enter the Mail Order Sales field. However, at that time Spain did not have any qualified databases that we could use.
To that end, to build our own client list and begin to sell products by mail, we created the Gratisfilm Photocolor Club, the photo developing company that was the origin of SAPE Group. That’s how the adventure began.
With time, the list of clients who put their trust in Gratisfilm grew, and with it also grew our range of products and services: we began to offer books, music, collectibles, housewares, jewelry, correspondence courses...
That’s how our brands were born, divided into product categories: Club Internacional del Libro, Galería del Coleccionista, Hiperpost, ESINE, and more recently, Club Natura, IPS and the Escuela Internacional de Estilismo y Moda - International Style and Fashion School.
At the same time as our products diversified, we began to also diversify our sales channels: mail, advertisements in the press, telemarketing, radio, TV, newsstands...
This expansion into new business areas and a philosophy of deep respect toward the consumer are two of the reasons for which, for over 30 years, we have been able to generate 70 times more wealth than the country’s GDP increase.
Today, we feel especially proud of having achieved this growth and these results, while maintaining our independence and our exclusively Spanish shareholders.
